The design inspiration for this homes interior and sunroom addition were happy memories of time spent with family and friends in a cottage in Maine. The sunroom space was originally a screened in porch that the homeowner wanted to enclose, making it function as an extension of the home and be usable throughout the year. Lots of windows, comfortable furniture and antique pieces, like the horse bicycle turned side table, make the space feel unique, comfortable and inviting in all seasons. The homeowners beautiful antiques and original artworks were woven into the design of the interior. From a family heirloom Steinway piano to antique furniture pieces, the home is unique to the owner and welcoming to friends and family.

The piano room door was the original exterior door. We were able to remove it, opening up the flow and allowing the sunroom to become a full time extension of the house.

Incorporating the beautiful original artworks and antiques into each room of the home was an important part of the design.

The eat in dining nook off the kitchen got a refresh with a new table, woven wicker chairs and a new chandelier. The wicker chairs and striped pillows are a nod to coastal Maine, mixed in with an antique buffet.

The antique chairs in the front entry hall were reupholstered with a fun, bright fabric that pulled color inspiration from the original painting above the antique chest. Pieces collected by the home owner with special sentimental value were updated and refreshed. The natural fiber rug provides a touch of rustic charm and texture to the more formal pieces.

The grand children's bedroom has two antique twin bed frames with summer camp inspired bedding. Art prints from the owners collection add a pop of fun to the board and batten wall.

A dark charcoal paneled wall adds coziness to the guest bedroom. Terracotta in the floral pillows and the velvet lumbar pillow add warmth and texture to the space. Nature inspired branch base lamps draw on the Maine cottage theme.
